Candles and candle accessories can be found in many places but when you break it down there are generally 4 four types of retail outlets. You have specialty candle shops, which in most cases are Mom and Pop stores. These can be found in most town or village area. Then you have the large department stores that usually carry well know brand name candles. You have discount stores, which have closeout products, and then there are the online candle shops. Online candle companies many times will give you additional information about the type of candles that they sell that you wouldn’t normally know about.

Many people do not know that there are dangers in burning certain types of candles beyond the obvious risk of fire if used carelessly.

There are many types of candles to choose from these include: taper candles, pillar candles, votive candles, dinner candles, column candles, soy candles, jar candles and more. They also come in wide variety of sizes, fragrances and colors.7 out of 10 homes in the USA have at least on candle in them.

A full 3/4 of candle buyers surveyed said that the number 1 thing in determining what candle to buy is the fragrance second was color then price. They type of candle was not one of the factors, however it should have been as many people have a preference as to type of candle. For example soy candles, paraffin candles, bees wax candles.

96% of women surveyed said that they buy at least one candle per year and 50% of men purchase at least one candle per year.

Women, who are more likely to purchase also use them more 2/3 of candle buyers burn them at least once a week. Also younger people are more likely to use candles than older people.
